Anchored in Faith. Serving with Heart.
Adelah’s Anchor House is a Christ-centered nonprofit based in Eastern North Carolina, created to be a safe harbor for individuals and families navigating the hardships of homelessness, chronic illness, and poverty. Rooted in love and driven by faith, we exist to meet the practical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our community — one life at a time.
Our work is inspired by the belief that no one should face life’s storms alone. Whether it’s through care kits, community outreach, support for cancer patients and veterans, or faith-based partnerships, our mission is to serve with compassion and dignity.
We strive to be a steady anchor — not just offering relief, but also restoring hope, building relationships, and empowering long-term stability through advocacy, education, and spiritual care.
At Adelah’s Anchor House, our team is more than a group of volunteers — we are a faith-led family of compassion, commitment, and community, built on a vision that came from the heart of a child with remarkable strength and spiritual clarity.
Inspired by Adelah
This mission was born from the heart of Adelah, a young girl whose journey through serious illness ignited a powerful vision: to create a place of peace, dignity, and support for people who are hurting. Her compassion, courage, and unwavering faith continue to guide everything we do — reminding us that love, even in the smallest acts, can anchor someone in hope.
Jessica Wooten – Founder & President
Motivated by her daughter’s vision and her own faith journey, Jessica founded Adelah’s Anchor House to offer real help with a spiritual foundation. Her leadership is driven by humility, hands-on service, and a fierce desire to meet people where they are with love and dignity.
Board of Directors
Our board is composed of leaders from ministry, healthcare, education, and nonprofit work who provide prayerful direction, wisdom, and accountability. Together, they uphold the organization’s values and ensure its mission stays anchored in integrity.
Volunteers & Prayer Partners
From assembling care kits to offering prayer and personal support, our volunteers are the hands and feet of Christ in action. Whether you’re a neighbor, teacher, nurse, pastor, or prayer warrior — you are part of the heartbeat of this mission.
